Why we built Resumeora
In 2024, our co-founders Alex and Priya were helping friends review resumes for job applications. Again and again, they saw the same problem: qualified candidates with impressive projects and experience were getting rejected — not because they weren't good enough, but because their resumes couldn't be read by Applicant Tracking Systems.
One friend had a 9.2 CGPA from a top engineering college, three internships, and two hackathon wins. His resume used a multi-column Canva template that looked beautiful — but the ATS parsed his name as "Skills" and his experience as random text. He never got a single callback.
That's when we realized: there was no free, simple tool that prioritized parseability over prettiness.Word processors required manual formatting. Design tools created unreadable PDFs. Paid resume builders locked basic features behind paywalls.
Resumeora was built to fill this gap. We launched in January 2025 with four ATS-tested templates, a live preview editor, and a promise: completely free, no signup required, always.
